Grand Slam for Rutledge Girls Club

Grand Slam for Rutledge Girls Club

Wow! More than 140 friends, family, and supporters of the Rutledge Girls Club attended the Second Annual Beef and Beer Event on Friday, March 15. It was a fun, filling, and very successful fundraising event for the non-profit Girls Club, which supports five age-based softball teams for area girls from five though 15 years old.

On behalf of the club and its members, I want to give special thanks to our “Home Run” sponsors including Indulgences Hair Salon and Spa, the Inn at Swarthmore, the National Museum of American Jewish History, Quotations Bar and Restaurant, Coach Margie and Chris Corcoran, as well as our nine “Triple” sponsors and all those who attended and donated.

We invite everyone to come out and cheer on the girls this year at Triangle Park as they compete in the DelVal Youth Softball league which runs from mid-April through the end of June. In addition to teaching the girls the game of softball, sportsmanship, and how to be a good teammate, our coaches have guided their teams very successfully on the field, with the five girls’ teams winning two league championships last year, along with a second and third place finish.
