Swarthmoreans in the Brandywine

Swarthmoreans in the Brandywine

Swarthmoreans are featured artists among the upcoming programs of the Brandywine River Museum of Art this summer. The Museum Explorer’s family workshops, held on Thursdays through August 1 at 10 a.m. invite adults and children to discover the art of stories for a nominal fee.

On Thursday, August 1, at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., Children’s book author and illustrator Judy Schachner leads a storytelling and imagination workshop in which participants can build stories around the works of art and collages that they create.

On Sunday, August 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Jeannine Osayande and Dunya Performing Arts Company team up with artist and illustrator Raul Colon to celebrate the art of stories through West African music and dance. Admission to the museum including this program is free all day.

The Brandywine River Museum of Art is in Chadds Ford. Information is at brandywine.org/museum
