I’ve always felt that tomorrow is for those who are too much afraid
To go past yesterday and start for today
I feel that lasting moments are coming far and few between
So I should tell you of the happiness that you bring

– Stevie Wonder, “Joy Inside My Tears”

My husband and I like to say that our children are old souls. Especially the baby. At only three years old, his favorite music comes from Bob Marley, James Brown, and Stevie Wonder. Though he loves all of them, he seems to go through seasons, and we are definitely in a Stevie Wonder season.

On sluggish mornings when we need something to kick start our day, or when an especially long day calls for an impromptu dance party, we throw on the Stevie Wonder Essentials playlist, or our favorite of Wonder’s albums, “Songs in the Key of Life.”

The album opens with “Love’s in Need of Love Today,” and by the time you get to “Knocks Me Off My Feet” six tracks later, it’s nearly impossible not to be feeling good.

Vinyl may be the best way to listen to this album, but you can also find it wherever you stream music.
