Henry Horenstein, whose photo show “Selected Works“ continues on display at the List Gallery in Lang Performing Arts Center, will screen his documentary entitled Partners on Thursday, October 24, at 4:30 p.m. After the screening in the LPAC cinema, Horenstein will talk about his process in making photos and the film.
Swarthmore Friends of the Arts invites all photographers age 18 and older and living in the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District to participate in the “Celebrate Local Photographers” group exhibition to be held at Swarthmore Borough Hall.
Photographer Henry Horenstein visits Swarthmore College next Thursday, September 12, to deliver an artist’s talk to open his Selected Works show at the List Gallery. List’s first exhibition of the 2019-2020 season features selections from three of Horenstein’s photography series: Animalia, Humans, and Malecón.
Andy Shelter had an opportunity to apprentice with a photographer. He was coming out of active duty with the Navy and needed a job. But he turned down the apprenticeship — the timing wasn’t right for this kind of work, he decided, as he was newly married with his first child in the way. Luckily for Swarthmore, Shelter saw photography as more than a job opportunity.
“Lives on the Line,” a series of photographs illustrating the human and environmental costs of the Mariner East pipeline construction through Pennsylvania and Delaware County, will be on display at Swarthmore Friends Meeting, 12 Whittier Place on the Swarthmore College campus, from Sunday, April 7 through Sunday, May 12.
