Nearly 75 history- and architecture enthusiasts gathered Nov. 6 for the unveiling of a historical marker, which honors William Lightfoot Price (1861-1916), who was the founder of Rose Valley and a nationally known architect in the Arts and Crafts style. The marker, provided by the borough following approval by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC), is surrounded by Price-designed houses and situated on the grounds of the home where he once lived.
A 1926 Pennsylvania state historical marker noting the location of a branch of the Great Minquas Trail has been stolen from its site on Rose Valley Road, according to Sue Keilbaugh of the Rose Valley Museum and Historical Society.
15 year old Gabe Ma’s Eagle Scout project focused on the creation of a switchback trail to high ground in the Saul Preserve in Rose Valley, and creation of a new trail which will wind along a ridge overlooking the floodplain of the creek through the preserve.
