Eben Caldwell Lang died peacefully at his home in Audubon, Pennsylvania, on August 15, 2021. He was 91.
Eben was born in Alton, Illinois, the son of Harriet and Fred Lang, and moved to Swarthmore with his family at the age of five. He attended Swarthmore schools and graduated from Asheville School in Asheville, North Carolina. He went on to graduate from Cornell University, and later served two years as an officer in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Korea. He worked for Container Corporation of America for over 30 years before retiring.
Eb loved his many summers in Maine. This was his happy place. He will be remembered as a man of kindness and decency; a true gentleman who was considerate to all around him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Anna Mary (Mimi) Fussell Lang; three daughters, Cathy Lang, Holly Chappell (Rick), and Amy Simms; and five grandchildren, Rob Gemmell (Melissa), John and Christa Chappell and Harrison and Maud Simms.
