Accidents

• September 3, 7:50 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Westminster Ave., where a vehicle owner reported parking on the preceding evening at approximately 8 p.m. The next morning, the vehicle owner noticed a large dent in both driver side doors. It is unknown who was responsible, and anyone having information on the crash should contact the Swarthmore Borough Police Department at 610-543-0123.

• September 8, 8:17 p.m.: Officers investigated a collision at the intersection of Swarthmore and Yale avenues for a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. The crash was the result of a vehicle stopping at the stop sign, heading west on Yale Ave., but failing to see a pedestrian walking north on Swarthmore Ave. When the driver proceeded after the stop, the car struck the pedestrian, forcing them onto the hood of the car. The pedestrian was examined by a responding paramedic but was not injured, and damage to the car was minor.

Medical Emergencies

Swarthmore Borough Police Dept. responded to 14 medical emergencies during the period. Officers assisted responding medics and the Swarthmore Ambulance for a variety of medical calls.

Service Alarms

The Swarthmore Borough Police Dept. responded to seven alarm calls from September 2 to 16, including false burglar alarm, fire alarms, and panic alarms.

Other

• September 9, 11:05 p.m.: Criminal mischief was reported in the 100 block of Park Avenue. An unknown male walked up onto the porch of a residence, lifted a flower pot from the porch, and destroyed the pot. There was no other damage reported.
