Swarthmore Presbyterian Nursery Day School

Swarthmore Presbyterian Nursery Day School is preparing for a year of progress and change,” said SPNDS director Marjorie Adams. “We welcome new staff members Megan Yates (Art), Fiona Murray (Music), Lauren Wallgren and Angela Kraemer (Assistant Teachers), and Katy Orlando (Lunch Bunch Curriculum Facilitator and Teacher).”

  • Megan Yates has designed and taught Art curriculum for PreK-5th grade for nine years. She has a B.A. in Visual Arts from Fordham University and a M.A.T. in Art Education from the University of the Arts. 

  • Fiona Murray has a B.A. from Temple University and has taught preschoolers in different avenues for the past 18 years. She plays piano and guitar, and is also an advanced vocalist and certified Pilates instructor.

  • Lauren Wallgren returns to SPNDS after spending the past 18 years raising and home schooling her children. She has an A.A. and experience in Early Childhood Education and rejoins SPNDS as Assistant Teacher in the Middle 4-Year-Old class.

  • Angela Kraemer will be Assistant Teacher in a new section of AM Kindergarten Complement. Angela has a B.A. in Education from Widener University, and is certified and experienced in Special Education and as a Teacher of Students with Disabilities.

The Lunch Bunch program welcomes Katy Orlando as Coordinator as the Curriculum Facilitator. She has a B.A. from Susquehanna University, an M.A.T. in Elementary Education from Montclair State, and experience as a teacher and as a program administrator. 

Several SPNDS staff members will change roles. Allison DeSalvo will move into the AM Kindergarten Teacher role for a new section; former Director Cathy Conahan will take on the Librarian position with Reisa Mukamal as her Assistant; and Megan Coltman will move into the newly created Schoolwide Assistant Teacher role.

The School in Rose Valley

The School in Rose Valley enters the 2019-20 school year with three new staff members as well as some current staff members taking on new roles. 

  • Rory Mannion, Director of Admissions, joins the SRV community with degrees in Human Development and Family Studies, Early Childhood Education and Educational Leadership. She has worked in education in both teaching and administrative capacities for the past ten years.

  • Carrie Miluski, Director of Development & Alumni Relations, is an alumna of SRV and a current SRV parent, who in her 20-year non-profit career has focused on supportive services for children and families. She has degrees from Bates College and the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania.

  • Courtney Seltzer, Art Teacher, comes to SRV from Chesterbrook Academy in West Chester, Pa. A practicing artist, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Delaware and a Master of Education in Art from Temple University.

  • Current staff member Jannelle Koszarek will be taking on the role of Director of Sustainability & Community Engagement. In 2017, Jannelle became part of the staff at SRV and launched the Farm to Fork Food & Education Program.

  • Finally, Nava Hall will be moving into the position of Director of Business & Finance. Nava has been in SRV’s Business Office since 2009.
