The Scott Arboretum Selections fall sale is coming on Saturday, September 14, with its traditional inventory of woody and perennial plants — including hard to find specimens that thrive in our climate — on offer to Scott members and others.

On Wednesday, September 11, gardeners and shoppers can join free guided tours of the Arboretum grounds, where they may inspect examples of the plants will be on sale at the Saturday extravaganza. Tours at noon and 5:30 p.m. will leave from the Scott offices on College Avenue. Rain will cancel the tours.

Members have first crack at the sale offerings, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Membership can be purchased at the entrance. On Saturday afternoon, the public is welcome to shop between 1 and 3 p.m. At the sale, plant experts will be on hand to help with questions, and volunteers will make the day run smoothly to accommodate all shoppers. Sale, membership, and tour information, and opening hours for the Arboretum are at the Arboretum website.
