Virtual Cooking Class: In a Pickle

By late summer, veggie gardeners everywhere have lots of cucumbers on hand. On August 6, Scott Arboretum Education Programs and Events Assistant Mandie Curtis Banks will guide viewers through a step-by-step process for making homemade pickles with their surplus cukes. The class will also make peach salsa, combining that sweet stone fruit with another veggie garden staple: the tomato.

Dig and Divide Peonies at Scott

Autumn is the perfect time to dig, divide, and add peonies in your garden. On Sunday, October 6, from 1 to 4 p.m., the Mid-Atlantic Peony Society will host a “Dig and Divide” demonstration at Scott Arboretum, sharing techniques for propagating and improving the health of these perennial beauties.

Scott Plans Fall Sale and Tours

The Scott Arboretum Selections fall sale is coming on Saturday, September 14, with its traditional inventory of woody and perennial plants — including hard to find specimens that thrive in our climate — on offer to Scott members and others.
