To the Community:

I am collecting school supplies from now through Thanksgiving Day for Harlem Lacrosse

Harlem Lacrosse is a school-based non-profit that works with underserved kids in Philadelphia by placing full-time staff in school sites. They provide year-round support and individualized attention for kids and use lacrosse to build leadership skills and social responsibility. Ninety-six percent of their students qualify for free or reduced lunch prices. Through the program, 88% of their students avoid chronic absenteeism and 90% earn passing grades in their core classes. Many have gone on to colleges like Bates, Colby, West Point, Tufts, and more.

Harlem Lacrosse has programs in five cities. Philadelphia is one of the five sites. I have collected lacrosse equipment for them in the past, but what they have asked me to collect now is school supplies, including the following:

Pens, pencils, markers, construction paper, crayons, colored pencils, loose leaf paper, highlighters, folders, Post-Its, staples, mini Sharpeners and pretty much any other kind of office or school supplies.

If you have new or very gently used supplies that you’d like to contribute, you can drop them off on my covered front porch between now and Thanksgiving Day. Please feel free to call me at 484-704-0628 with any questions. Thank you for your help!
